Tributes have been pouring in for an avid Watford FC fan who died.

Stephen "Toddy" Todd died last night in Watford General Hospital.

Since his passing many have taken to social media to pay tribute to the Watford FC fan and contributor to the community.

Olly Wicken, creator of the Hornets Heaven football podcast, said: "He was a lovely, kind man - great company and a lot of Watford fans are going to miss him hugely.

"Hornet Heaven, as an afterlife paradise for Watford fans after they pass away is - sadly - only a figment of our imaginations.

"But it’s nice to think of Toddy in Hornet Heaven, carrying on supporting the Horns for the rest of eternity, and mingling with generations of past Watford fans, players, and managers. He’d absolutely love it there. And they’d absolutely love him."

Stephen was also a great contributor to the community and recently attended the Watford Museum's Graham Taylor exhibition, a person who was great friends with Stephen, according to the museum's curator Sarah Priestley.

She said: "I'm so sad, but also thinking of his family and friends. He was special to so many people.

"Toddy was a wonderful friend and one of the great characters in the WFC family. He loved his club and his club loved him."

Troy Deeney, footballer at Watford FC, took to Twitter to pay tribute to Stephen.

He wrote: "Very saddened to hear the loss of a great guy and massive Watford fan Stephen Todd," adding "R.I.P toddy".
