A BUILDER was slapped with a £300 fine for dumping their tanning bed on a grass verge, the council has revealed as part of a fly-tipping crack down.
In a bid to stop unlawful rubbish dumps and to warn residents about rogue waste carriers, Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) has released details about offenders caught since 2016.
A builder in Harrow who paid an unidentified group to dispose of carpet scraps was cautioned after the material was found dumped in the Three Rivers area.
Another Harrow resident was warned when their black bags were strewn across roads in Loudwater and Sarratt by back-alley bin-men.
Fixed penalty notices of £300 are handed to more serious offenders however, including a Prestwick Road resident who left their sunbed out for scrap metal merchants who never showed.
If a case is serious enough, even unwitting fly-tippers can be prosecuted by the council.
