THREE Hillingdon girls are in rehearsal for a professional production of the ballet Coppélia at the Watersmeet Theatre, Rickmansworth, from March 2-3.

Daisy Austin-Howell, 11, of St Helens School, Northwood, Lily Doyle, 12, of Bishopshalt School, Hillingdon, and Erin Wilson, of St Catherine’s School, Yiewsley, are in the midst of preparations.

Erin, who also attends the Lynne Chilver School of Dance, said: “I started dancing when I was three years old.  I really wanted to try it because I saw my friend doing it.

“I am looking forward to dancing with English Youth Ballet because I just want to be on stage in front of a big audience.  In the future, I would probably like to be a dancer and also do some choreography.”

English Youth Ballet held a huge audition for the ballet at the Watersmeet in November when 150 young hopefuls turned up to the two sessions. Rehearsals for the ballet are taking place at St Joan of Arc Catholic School.

The ballet will star principals Samantha Camejo, Monica Tapiador, Caroline Cabot, Phillip Tunstall, Phillip Bollev and Trevor Wood. Tickets can be bought at the box office 01923 711063 or by visiting: www.watersmeet.co.uk
