DOG lover Peter Lipscombe, 82, paid a visit to Dogs Trust West London Rehoming Centre in Harefield to fulfil a lifelong wish, which he attached to his care home’s ‘Wish Tree’.

A resident of Oak House, a Care UK home in Slough, Peter has been a lifelong lover of dogs and a supporter of Dogs Trust.

The centre arranged a day he would never forget.  Peter was given a tour of te kennels, an update on activities at the centre and even got to meet some of the residents for cuddles and treats!

Rachael Cresdee, who is Peter’s lifestyle co-ordinator, said: “When Peter attached his wish to our Wish Tree, we really wanted to make it come true for him.

“I am so grateful to Dogs Trust in Harefield for giving Peter an experience he will be talking about for the rest of his days. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating and we finished our visit with coffee and cake in their beautiful on-site tea rooms.”

Centre manager Richard Moore said: “It’s always truly touching to meet lifelong supporters of our centre, such as Peter. I’m delighted we were able to make his wish come true.”

Rachael added: “Peter has had dogs his whole life and, as residents cannot have them within the care homes, I know the special time he had one-on-one with the dogs is something he will never forget.”

Peter made a generous donation to the rehoming centre and even told the staff he was remembering them in his will.
