A couple welcomed the public into their garden for the National Garden Scheme.

On May 13, 207 people visited Yogesh and Hasruty Patel's garden in Northwood.

This marked the third time the couple had opened their garden, featured in the National Garden Scheme yellow book, and they successfully raised nearly £2,000 for the charity.

Mr Patel said: "This was our third year of opening and the best yet. We were very worried due to the heavy rain on Saturday. However, our prayers were answered and we had the most pleasant weather for the event.

"In all, 207 visitors came and we raised a total of £1,700 for charity.

"My wife Hasruty who is the gardener is hoping to raise over £2,000 next year and has already started planning for it!"
