FOR its next performance, the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra will present a unique concert programme, chosen entirely by the audience.

The group invited supporters to choose and then sponsor favourite classical excerpts for performance at their summer concert, with all proceeds going towards orchestra funds.

The orchestra was overwhelmed by the response and now has a full programme for the concert, including many favourite symphonic and concerto movements.

The selection includes Khachaturian’s Adagio from Spartacus, also known as the immensely popular theme from The Onedin Line. Movements from Bellini’s Trumpet Concerto, Beethoven’s Symphony No.7 and Donizetti’s Concertino for Cor Anglais and orchestra are also included.

Where soloists are required, they are drawn from the orchestra itself.

The concert is part of the orchestra’s 32nd season. In addition to countless concerts at venues throughout Hillingdon, the group has also performed at some of London’s most prestigious venues, including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Southwark Cathedral.

Well-loved Moments in Orchestral Sound will be led by Lucy Cumming and conducted by the founder of the Orchestra, Peter J. Williams. For further details see: www.hillingdonphil.btck.co.uk
