A HILLINGDON primary school teacher will be flying to America next month after earning a place at a global teaching event.
Jenny Lovelock, of Newnham Junior School in Eastcote, is one of five British teachers invited to this year’s Discovery Education Summer Institute, one of the most celebrated education programmes in the US.
She was chosen for her enthusiasm in teaching with technology, and will join more than 100 educators at the University of North Carolina.

The event connects teachers from around the world to share the latest ideas and technology. Entry is by invitation only, and delegates are recognised as digital leaders.
Jenny said: “As a teacher, you never stop learning, so I cannot wait to travel to North Carolina to pick up some new and exciting ideas and to share my own experiences.
“I just know I am going to return feeling inspired and eager to share what I have learnt. In fact, I’ve already had a few colleagues ask if they can sneak along in my suitcase!”
Discovery Education works with 6,000 primary schools in this country.
