The final three seats on Brent Council are to be filled today as those living in the Willesden Green ward head to the polls.
The election, which was originally scheduled for May 3, was postponed following the death of candidate and longstanding councillor Lesley Jones.
Polls are open until 10pm tonight, with the result expected shortly after.
Labour currently holds 57 of the 60 council seats after an utterly dominant performance in last month’s borough elections.
It held all three seats in Willesden Green in 2014, but other parties in the borough are seeking to put a dent in what they perceive as effectively a one-party council.
Carolyn Downs, chief executive and returning officer at Brent Council, said it was important for Willesden Green residents to “have their say”.
