FOLLOWING the launch of the ‘Be an Uxbridge angel’ charity wall, raising awareness of a partnership between intu Uxbridge shopping centre and HALO Children’s Foundation, pupils from Cowley St Laurence School created feathers for the wall in their Religious Education classes.

Youngsters visited intu Uxbridge to pin their decorative feathers to the angel wings and officially become an ‘Uxbridge angel’.

They also had a chance to meet HALO’S founder, Alia Jones, who established the charity in 2016. It supports children and their families after the loss of a loved one, providing a range of services to guide families through their grief.

Natasha House, marketing manager at intu Uxbridge, said: “Our charity wall has been a fantastic addition to the centre – helping to raise awareness of HALO and the support they offer local families.”

Alia Jones said, “The death of a loved one, especially a parent, is one of the most life-changing events a child will ever face. It’s really humbling to see schools such as Cowley St Laurence focusing on bereavement and how this can affect children.”
