When I first came to Watford around ten years ago, I was struck by its energy and the seamless blend of community, business and culture in just eight square miles.

With great businesses headquartering here – TJX is building its new European headquarters on the Clarendon Road at the moment – leading shopping facilities, award winning parks, three theatres and a Premiership club in the middle of it all, the town has a special spark. Watford is a place with talented people and restless ambitions, and because of this it consistently punches above its weight.

Manny Lewis, Managing Director of Watford Borough Council

I have lived in Watford for 43 years.

I moved here in 1975 with my husband when we married and have lived here ever since.

I love the cosmopolitan vibe in Watford.

We have an extremely diverse and friendly population, vibrant town centre, great night life and I defy anyone not to be able to shop till they drop.

In total contrast we have beautiful local parks and green spaces and to top it all the countryside is on our doorstop.

As President of Rotary Club of Watford, I have met so many people both young and old, that are generous to a fault.

They give willingly of both their money and their time. Who wouldn’t want to bring up a family here???

Fiona Daly.

President.

Rotary Club of Watford

I moved here from Harrow in 1999, and since 2001 been privileged to represent Central Watford (the town centre) and Oxhey on the county council.

In that time there has been a lot of changes and some controversy about them but without change and progress we would not have a vibrant, dynamic, diverse and “fun” town.

As a regular at the Woodside gym, I hear positive comments about what Watford has to offer. Like many others I enjoyed the Imagine Watford events.

On Sunday I had a relaxing late lunch in the sunshine at one of the great independent cafes on St Albans Road in North Watford.

With great parks, great people, strong community groups and businesses who support the events means the town has so much to offer.

I love it!
