The Art of Glass

A solo exhibition by Amanda Charles. Amanda’s work is influenced by iconic contemporary art movements drawing inspiration from the simplicity of Bauahus Modernism to the complexity of non-representational Abstract Expressionism. Her compositions are abstract, often using colour, linear intricate detailing and geometric pattern to drive the narrative and achieve chromatic harmony. On Thursday 12 July, 6pm to 8pm, come along to see the new exhibition and meet the artist. Amanda will give a talk about her work and a demonstration in glass art construction points.

Summer Reading Challenge

There’s going to be a lot of mischief going on at your library this summer when the Mischief Makers Summer Reading Challenge 2018 launches on Saturday. Children are challenged to read six library books of their choice over the holidays and return to the library to tell staff and volunteers about them.
