Two busy roads are to be resurfaced after “years of pressure” from a county councillor.
Cllr Asif Khan, who represents North Watford, says that Leavesden Road and Balmoral Road in Watford will be repaired after receiving assurances from Hertfordshire County Council.
The resurfacing of Balmoral Road in particular has been a long time coming due to costs and complications over the make-up of the surface of the road.
The whole of Balmoral Road will be shut for three nights from July 31 between 8pm and 5am for resurfacing works.
Leavesden Road is currently being resurfaced with works beginning this week during the night. Cllr Khan says he and Callowland councillor Sohail Bashir have been reporting the "poor state" of the road since 2014.
The road which runs from the junction of St Albans Road to Gammons Lane was included in the Herts Highways Integrated Works Program.

Cllr Khan said: "It’s great that the road is finally being repaired. I’ve personally reported potholes and highlighted its poor state so I’m glad it’s being done.”
