Roadworks are likely to cause traffic delays for much of next month.
There will be resurfacing works on Whippendell Road from August 2 to August 11 and the area will be closed from 8am - 5pm.
There will also be temporary traffic lights at the junction of Hagden Lane for footway works.
The work, carried out by Ringway on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council, is due to run from today until August 19.
There will be traffic lights in operation in all directions.
Also, Watford Road between Elstree and the A41 roundabout near Aldenham will be closed day and night from July 30 to August 30.
UK Power Networks is installing new 11kv high voltage electricity cables. The road needs to be dug up to install a duct.
