Police have been called to Watford Junction this evening (Saturday) after reports of a 'disturbance on a train'.

A photo taken by a passer-by shows a very large number of police cars outside the station, believed to have been at least 14, and rail companies on social media have confirmed it is because of an incident on board a train.

Virgin Trains tweeted that it was an incident involving football fans while passengers reported being stuck on the train for around 45 minutes.

Paramedics also appear to have been called to the station.

National Rail have confirmed that trains are on the move again.

Watford police station is a matter of yards from Watford Junction while British Transport Police officers also attended.

There are no further details at this stage.
