Burglars smashed the window of a taxi office and left a trail of glass on the floor before stealing a company car.

Kings Cars, in Station Road , Kings Langley was broken into in the early hours of this morning and a Mercedes Vito car was taken, according to the owner.

Police received a report of the break in this morning.

Offenders are believed to have smashed their way through a side window before damaging property inside and taking the keys.

Peter Frost who is a controller for Kings Cars arrived for work at 5am today. He said: “They smashed the side window to break in and two of our screens were on their side and there was glass everywhere.

“A car was stolen and now we are just trying to get some of this cleared up. How they knew where the keys were, is beyond me. They must have rummaged around for them.”

Kings Cars director, Toqueer Ashfaq, said: “It’s disturbing to think someone can do something like this.

“Obviously we were very shocked and disappointed and of course we didn’t want to let our customers down this morning.

“We are going to work with the police who seem quite hopeful there will be quite a good outcome.”

A police investigation is underway.
