A RUISLIP resident thought burglars had broken into his house when he felt the walls of his home and his bed shake during this morning's earthquake.
Dave Peters, 39, was asleep at his home in Hartland Drive, when he felt his bed shaking at about 1am.
He said: "When I felt the bed moving I did say to myself that felt like an earthquake. The next thought I had was that we were being burgled.
"I thought someone was in the house so I started listening for more noises.
"It wasn't until the morning when my wife put the breakfast news on that we heard it was actually an earthquake."
The epicentre of the tremor was near Market Rasen, in Lincolnshire.
So far there has only been one reported injury, when a man was hit by bricks falling from his chimney in Barnsley.
