A 21-YEAR-OLD Wembley woman died when her
broken-down car was hit by a breakdown truck on Saturday.
The woman was in her maroon Vauxhall Corsa in the westbound slow lane of the A40, in Hillingdon, when the recovery vehicle hit the back of her car, just before 9am.
She was rushed to the Royal London Hospital, in Whitechapel, by air ambulance but died the following afternoon.
Sergeant Chris Osborne, from the Alperton collision investigation unit, said: “We are appealing to any witnesses to the actual collision to contact us and we would also like to speak to anyone who saw or passed the Corsa prior to the collision.”
The woman's family has been informed and a post mortem is due to take place later this week.
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information can contact the witness line on 0208 988 5319, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
