CHILDREN have been given a special tour of RAF Northolt as part of a school project.
The group of pupils from Mandeville School, Eastcote Lane North, in Northolt, went to see the flying side of RAF Northolt for a special school project they have been doing on transportation.
Youngsters got to chat to RAF staff and experience all the working of the base.
A spokesman for RAF Northolt said: "As soon as we heard the request from the school we came out in force to help."
Youngsters learned about check-in procedures and looked round an aeroplane from 32 (The Royal) Squadron based at RAF Northolt.
The children were also treated to an inspection of one of the RAF fire engines.
Their teacher, Violet Herbert, said: "I want to thank RAF Northolt for looking after us so well.
"I am not sure who had the most fun, the staff or the children.
"One thing I am certain of, they learnt a great deal in a real-life environment thanks to the RAF."
