THE children of Northwood Preparatory School played host to royalty on Saturday as they showcased their musical talents in a charity concert.
Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia attended the concert, at which pupils raised funds for two kindergarten projects in Serbia.
The royal couple were there to thank Northwood Prep for their ongoing support of children in their home country and for the work of the Francis Terry Foundation, the school’s long-standing charity.
The foundation, which works with SOS Bosnia, a charity set up by former Northwood Prep pupil Stuart Laycock, provides funds for two Bosnian nursery schools.
Dr Trevor Lee, Northwood Prep’s headmaster, said: “We have a long tradition of supporting educational projects overseas, so we’re particularly pleased to be working with SOS Bosnia, which has such a personal connection with the school through Stuart.”
