PAYING council tax by direct debit could win one lucky Hillingdon resident a £25,000 prize.
Those who register to pay their council tax by direct debit before 5pm on July 12 could win the cash from Hillingdon Council and BACS Payment Schemes.
Existing direct debit-paying residents will automatically be entered in the draw. Others can either return a completed DD instruction to the council or sign up on the website, www.hillingdon.gov.uk The winner will be drawn on July 17 and notified by post or phone within 14 days.
It is estimated that councils can save around £10 per customer per year by converting people to Direct Debit.
Hillingdon is one of 17 London boroughs taking part in the prize draw.
