A HEALTH campaign encouraging more active lifestyles has been kick-started by Hillingdon residents signing pledges to commit to better living.
Change4life Hillingdon, which supports the national NHS change4life initiative, asks for three pledges from borough people.
The first is for adults of 19 and over to take part in at least 150 minutes of physical activity each week.
The second is for parents and guardians to encourage their children to be more active.
The third is for young people (5-18) to do at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day.
Cllr Henry Higgins, spokesman for Culture, Sport & Leisure, said: βItβs easy to make excuses of being too busy or too worn out after a day in the office, but I am committed to taking part and I hope others will follow suit.β
The borough is also promoting Explore Hillingdon for walkers and cyclists. The project was awarded the coveted Inspire mark and became part of the London 2012 Inspire programme.
