THE newly-built South Ruislip Library started a new chapter last week as it re-opened its doors.
The previous library, in Victoria Road, was demolished to make way for the new
three-storey building, including an open-plan library on the ground floor, an adult education centre, complete with classrooms and workshops on the first floor, and ten new apartments split between the first and second floors.
The library has more than 2,000 new books, seven PCs and four Apple Mac computers, a Starbucks coffee area, free wi-fi, air conditioning and energy-saving lighting.
There will also be a flower stall at the library, run by staff and students from South Ruislip Adult Learning Centre.
The library will be open from 9.30am-9pm Monday to Thursday, 9.30am-5.30pm Fridays and 9.30am-4pm on Saturdays.
