LONDON’S largest group hug is taking place in Hillingdon on Sunday, September 23, marking the end of London Week of Peace.
The Rev Reg Craig, of Hillingdon Baptist Church, whose idea it is, is joining with the council, Hillingdon Interfaith Network, the police, schools and other choir and dance groups to celebrate the week.
The Mayor, Cllr Michael Markham, said it had been a fantastic summer for uniting people.
He added: "This event for peace will continue that theme as people from all faiths and backgrounds get together with the common goal of peace and doing something kind for others.”
The hug starts at 2pm on the Civic Centre forecourt.
