HILLINGDON’S gardening excellence was saluted at the London in Bloom Awards.
The borough won the Large City category and retained its Silver Gilt award for the fourth year running.
Breakspear Crematorium and Eastcote House Gardens scooped gold in their categories, while Poor’s Field at Ruislip Lido won London Common of the Year.
Nine other parks and open spaces also received Silver Gilt or Silver awards.
Started more than 40 years ago, London in Bloom is an annual competition, designed to promote gardening and horticulture across London.
Prizes for Britain in Bloom, for which Hillingdon is in the Large City category, will be announced in October. Full list of Hillingdon awards:
