Tanvi, 9, gives Frankenweenie's Tim Burton a red carpet grilling
8:14am Friday 19th October 2012 in News By Kathryn Snowdon
A SCHOOLGIRL turned reporter for the day to interview the makers of the new animation, Frankenweenie.
Tanvi Masrani, 9, from Ruislip Manor, attended the opening of the 56th BFI London Film Festival, as part of the education charity, FILMCLUB.
The Newnham Junior School pupil, a film club member, attended the Frankenweenie press conference and was the only junior reporter on the red carpet at the Leicester Square premiere.
Tanvi said: “It was really exciting and enjoyable interviewing Tim Burton. It was an amazing experience.”
The youngster questioned Burton, the mastermind behind Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride and Beetlejuice, about his imaginative signature style.
She also spoke to actor Martin Short and the film’s producers about the spooky new stop-motion animation film, which tells the story of a boy who brings his dog back to life.
Tanvi said: “I think they gave me more of an understanding about the film and the behind the scenes.”
She also got a sneak peak of the animation’s real-life puppets, which she was surprised to find were so small.
