Muslims will celebrate Eid on Sunday as the moon was not sighted on Friday evening.

It has been reported Muslims will partake in 30 days of fasting and Eid will fall on Sunday after the moon was not sighted in Saudi Arabia and parts of the Middle East.

This year in the UK some Muslims began fasting on Friday July 20 and some on Saturday July 21. It is unsure if all Muslims will celebrate Eid on Sunday.

Earlier this week UAE astronomer and General Superviser of the Sharjah Planetarium, Ibrahim Jarwan had claimed that calculations had predicted that Eid would be on Sunday.

In the meantime a Pakistani news report is stating that in the very North of Pakistan, Eid has been declared for Saturday 18 August as the moon was sighted.

In Pakistan itself though the Moon Sighting Committee will meet tomorrow night.
