Rapist jailed for teen attack

A COP who helped bring a Hounslow rapist to justice has praised the "courage" of his victim.

Amir Faizi, 22, raped an 18-year-old school pupil twice after attacking him at a bus stop in Hounslow, as the teenager made his way home from a night out in Ealing.

On Thursday, Faizi, of Charter Crescent, was jailed for the public's protection, meaning he cannot be released until a parole board agree he is no longer a danger to society.

Detective Sergeant Katie Lilburn, who helped catch Faizi, praised his victim for helping bring the rapist to justice.

She said: "Sexual assaults and rapes always have a massive impact on victims, and that impact can be overwhelming.

"I cannot express more highly my admiration for the courage that Fazi's victim has shown.

"Without the support of him and his family throughout this investigation, Faizi may not have been held accountable for his actions and would be free to prey on other victims."

The court heard Faizi approached the teenager and told him he would take him home.

But when the 18-year-old ignored him, Faizi dragged him from the bus stop, punched him in the face, and threatened to kill him.

Fazi then forced him to go to a service area behind a nearby estate agents, and raped the young man twice.

When the teen eventually escaped, he hid in bushes until he was able to get to a house to call the police.

The court was told Faizi was traced using DNA evidence and arrested at his home in May last year.

Sentencing the rapist at Isleworth Crown Court, Judge McGregor Johnson described Faizi as a "dangerous offender", and jailed him to protect the public.

He will remain in prison for at least two years and 173 days, at which point a parole board will make a decision on his release.
