Shake a tin to help diabetes sufferers in Hillingdon
VOLUNTEERS are being sought in Hillingdon to collect money at local Tesco stores for Diabetes UK.
The Big Collection weekend takes place on October 4-6, and the charity particularly wants help at the Bulls Bridge Extra in Hayes.
In the borough of Hillingdon, there are 13,564 people living with diabetes*. Worryingly, Diabetes UK estimates there are also 2,364 people in the borough with Type 2 diabetes who have not been diagnosed*.
The Big Collection weekend aims to raise £400,000 to support people living with diabetes and help find those who need to be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible.
The weekend is being organised as part of a major national charity partnership between Diabetes UK and Tesco.
Volunteers can choose from three-hour shifts, running from 9am-6pm on October 4 and 5 and 10am-4pm on October 6.
If you are interested in volunteering for the Big Collection weekend, contact Premal or Caroline on 020 7424 1000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
