LAKE Farm Park primary school in Hayes will open its doors to reception pupils this September.

The 630-pupil academy has 90 spaces available for children due to start school in the next academic year.

Due to its new school status, applications will be accepted beyond the deadline of January 15.

Building is on course to finish this summer and the school promises a host of features designed for the modern learner.

Martin Young, Chief Executive Officer, said: “We will work hard with local families and the local community to make this a great school for the children of Hayes.”

The school has courted controversy in the past from locals, due to its position on Green Belt land at Lake Farm Country Park.

It will be run by the Park Federation Academy Trust on behalf of Hillingdon Council. There are four other primary academies in the federation, two of them in Hayes, Cranford Park and Wood End Park.

The federation educates more than 3,000 children and is one of the largest providers of state-funded primary education.

Lake Farm Park was approved in May as part of the £150m Hillingdon School Expansion Plan, in which another three schools were given the go-ahead.

In March, the National Audit Office announced a national crisis was looming over the number of available primary school places and that the Government needed to take action.
