THIS year’s Share the Care Week, March 23-30, will enable people in the borough to find out about becoming short-break carers for disabled children.
Support is available to families with disabled children through the Hillingdon Family Link service.
Volunteers are needed to offer these families a sitting service for day trips as well as overnight stays. Volunteers will need experience of working with disabled children.
Cllr David Simmonds, cabinet member for education, children and young people, said: "Being a short-break carer is a rewarding and enjoyable role, which makes a big difference to families with disabled children.
"Both the children and their families benefit from the link. We want to hear from anyone who wants to be involved in this great initiative."
