ADULTS are being encouraged to take their first step towards a healthier lifestyle by attending a sports taster day.

Back to Sport day, run by Hillingdon Council, will offer the opportunity to try a session of choice, with some of the options including netball, fencing, basketball, tennis or judo.

The aim is to reintroduce adults to regular participation in sport, and there will be local clubs and coaches on hand to answer any questions.

Howard Griffin, Sport and Leisure Manager at Hillingdon Council, said: “Whether you are a beginner or an out-of-practice veteran, Back to Sport day is a wonderful opportunity for adults to try a variety of exciting sports in a friendly, welcoming environment."

The taster sessions will be held at Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex, Uxbridge, on Sunday, February 23 from 12-3pm.

Anyone who signs up before 5pm on Friday will be entered into a prize draw to win £40 of Pizza Express vouchers.

Residents should email sportsdev@hillingdon.gov.uk or call the Sports Development team on 01895 250453.
