A TERRIER cross from Hillingdon has been voted a daily winner in Taylor Wimpey’s national photo competition to find the UK’s cutest pets.

Alfie Moon, owned by Louise Taylor and Alan Ward, won the prize after Louise submitted a photo taken by Alan’s son, Bradley.

Louise, 45, says Bradley and brother Ryan take Alfie for long walks in Stockley Park, where this picture was taken. “We got Alfie two years ago because his previous owner was terminally ill and she couldn’t walk him any more,” she explained. “Before that, he’d been a rescue dog.

“I couldn’t bear for no-one to want him, so we decided to have him. He’s nine now and we just want to give him the best last years of his life.”

The Pets Make A Home competition invites owners to submit a picture of their animal via social networking sites, and a winner is chosen each day, based on a public vote.

The competition began on March 31, to coincide with National Pet Month, and entries will be accepted until May 5.

Prizes for the daily winners include personalised cat or dog bowls, along with professional sketches of their pets, while the overall winner will receive a £1,000 cash prize.
