MORE than 80 Hillingdon cyclists took part in a 35-mile sponsored ride on Sunday to raise money for Michael Sobell Hospice.

The circular route started at the hospice in Northwood and passed through the country lanes of Amersham, Bovingdon, Hemel Hempstead and Croxley Green.

Police offered free bike-marking and Dr Bike was also in attendance, providing free servicing.

Trish Mule, events and community fund-raiser at Michael Sobell, said: “We have had great feedback hope to beat last year’s total f money raised.”

Seasoned rider Eddie Hodges said it was his sixth year at the event.

“It was a great route with lots of hills. The signage and the marshalling were excellent and I couldn’t fault the organisation,” he said.
