A FIRM that offers music classes for babies and toddlers is celebrating its 21st birthday with a host of parties across Uxbridge, Harrow and Eastcote this month.

Monkey Music, which caters for children between three months and four years, was set up in 1993 by music teacher Angie Coates, who recognised the benefits of early exposure to music but couldn’t find anywhere to take her new baby.

Now, two decades later, the company has more than 50 franchises in the UK.

From June 16-21, more than 300 families across North-West London will be able to enjoy a series of birthday parties and competitions while children will decorate birthday cards to be displayed at Ickenham and Oak Farm libraries.

The events will also raise money for Monkey Music’s charity partner, Nordoff Robbins, a national organisation that uses music therapy to help vulnerable children.

Kathryn Burrows, regional owner of Monkey Music, said the celebrations should be great fun.

“We’re using the events to help support the work of a charity which is very close to our heart,” she said. “We hope they’ll create a lasting legacy for our celebrations, too.”
