A NEW care home for the elderly is to be built at in Ryefield Avenue, Hillingdon.

Ryefield Court will be home to 58 full-time residents and will include dementia care. It will provide hotel-style accommodation including a bistro, private dining room, library and spa.

Berkley Care Group expects the new home to bring around 70 jobs to the local community.

Construction will start this September and Ryefield Court will be open to residents in the autumn of 2015.

Seamus Halton, Berkley MD, said: “We’re building on a model established at Bayfield Court, our care home in Chingford, which was voted among the top 20 homes in London.

“Non-resident locals, family and friends will be encouraged to join Ryefield Court residents for events such as wine tastings, musical entertainment, gardening events, fine dining occasions, or simply for a cup of coffee or a drink at the bar.

“The Ryefield Court facilities will also be available to non-residents on a day care basis – an initiative that has worked incredibly well at Bayfield Court.

“Day care involves pick-up and drop-off from home, breakfast, lunch, dinner, use of all the facilities, and involvement in as many of the activities as temporary residents choose.

“This is a great option for the elderly who simply want a bit of a break from looking after themselves, and some social interaction. It can also help carers who want or need a respite.”
