STAFF at a care home in Hillingdon have been busy sanding, painting and ‘distressing’ furniture as part of a vintage-style makeover.
Support workers at Colham Road home put their creative skills to the test and brightened up residents’ bedrooms and the communal areas by adding a splash of colour and up-cycling existing furniture.
The new 'shabby chic' theme has proved a hit with residents, who have welcomed efforts to come up with budget-friendly ideas to add character to the home.
Angela Walkling, support manager at Colham Road, said: "It's important for our residents to be comfortable and feel at home here.
“Our recent redecoration has made a great difference and has created a relaxing environment with personalised touches for everyone.”
Colham Road is run by Hillingdon Council and provides residential care for people with profound physical and learning disabilities who require 24/7 care and support.
