THE Bloodhound Supersonic Car project, which aims to break the land speed record and the 1,000mph barrier, will come to Heathrow Aviation Engineering University Technical College in Northwood next week.

The project is looking to inspire the next generation of young people about science, technology, engineering and maths through the record attempt.

Bryan Berry, Principal of the new Heathrow UTC, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 students interested in learning more about STEM [science, technology, engineering and maths].”

The project uses one half of a replica car to show students in great detail how it has been developed.

Workshops for up to 120 learners per day will be held on Tuesday-Friday, January 20-23. Schools wanting to attend should email info@heathrow-utc.org or call 01923 602130.
