WITNESSES and information are being sought following the murder of a man in Vine Lane, Hillingdon, yesterday evening (Tuesday).
Police were called by an ambulance crew to the junction with St Andrew’s Lane at 6.59pm following reports of a shooting.
They found a 38-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Formal identification is yet to take place, but a post-mortem exam will be held this afternoon.
It is believed the victim was inside his parked car on the driveway of an address in Vine Lane when he was approached by a lone male.
The suspect then fired a number of shots into the vehicle before making off on foot towards Saunders Road.
No arrests have been made and, at this stage, it is believed to be a targeted, rather than a random, attack.
However, detectives retain an open mind about the motive.
Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8785 8099 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
