A 90-year-old woman lost her late husband's war medals in a burglary in Hayes.

The break-in occurred between Sunday, February 8 and the following Sunday in Milton Close. A quantity of cash was also stolen.

Six naval World War Two medals were stolen. Some have 'W ELLIS 598200' engraved on the edge.

Det Con Lisa Coker, of Hillingdon CID, said: "The victim is understandably very distraught that her husband's medals have been taken as they mean so much to her.

“These medals are a reminder of the sacrifice her husband made during the war and the brave man that he was.

"I urge anyone with information, or if you have been offered these medals to buy, to contact me."
