HILLINGDON’S beds-in-sheds team is celebrating a victory against a rogue landlord who demolished her illegal outbuilding.

Shalini Largey, of West Drayton Road, Hayes, has now pulled down the bed in a shed, also in West Drayton Road, following court action in December.

That was for failing to comply with an enforcement notice. It resulted in a fine of nearly £20,000.

She had also been prosecuted for similar offences in October, and the council took direct action by tearing down another of the landlord's illegal outbuildings in West Drayton Road after she failed to do the work.

Cllr Keith Burrows, cabinet member for planning, said: “ It’s a pity so much officer and court time had to be taken up to get to this point, but the result is the right one, and I hope that other landlords take note of this.”

Residents who suspect someone of breaching planning or housing regulations can report it to the council by calling 01895 250230.
