Handover: Mr Vora presents the bumper cheque to Sobell
MOOR PARK Lions Club members presented Michael Sobell Hospice at Northwood with a cheque for £15,000 this month.
The money was raised from a Gala Mehfil event, with dinner, music, singing and pledges for the charity.
In previous years, the club has supported only one charity per year, but this year Lions Club president Raj Vora decided to support two, one of which was Michael Sobell.
Mr Vora said: “My family have supported the charity for many years. We have taken part in lots of their fund-raising events and many of our club members also have connections with the hospice.”
