PUNCH and Judy shows, a canal boat trip and London-themed board games are some of the highlights of a month-long celebration of reading taking place in Hillingdon libraries for Cityread London this April.

It is a campaign funded by Arts Council England that invites people across the capital to join London's biggest book club by reading the same book at the same time.

They can then take part in events inspired by the chosen book, which this year is Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch, a fantasy/crime novel set in a magical alternate version of London.

Hillingdon’s 17 libraries are hosting a range of talks, games and activity sessions throughout April, in library branches and at other locations across the borough.

Residents are welcome to borrow a copy of Rivers of London from their local library to get started.
