FOR its next production, Ruislip Dramatic Society will return to the Compass Theatre with an intense thriller which will keep the guessing until the very end. It’s Stone Cold Murder by James Cawood.
It’s deep winter, and newlyweds Robert and Olivia are settled in front of the fire at the small hotel they own, anticipating a cosy evening.
There are no guests to keep them busy as it’s the end of the season, a quiet night guaranteed as the snow storm rages outside. Or maybe not.
Enter Ramsay, a rugged hiker desperately seeking shelter. He means no harm and just wants a room for the night. Or does he?
Then another arrival, this time an angry ex-boyfriend of Olivia’s. Could this all just be coincidence or is something not quite right?
A cocktail of suspense and atmosphere is about to be served in this thriller, where no-one can be trusted.
Stone Cold Murder, a new play which premiered in the UK last year, is about to tour professionally this summer, but Compass audiences will have a unique opportunity to see it first, thanks to RDS.
The group is relishing the challenges it has presented. The cast has even received coaching from a professional fight director at rehearsals.
The play additionally calls for two unique props which are central to the plot, and RDS is thrilled these have been loaned by the professional theatre which originally staged the UK premiere.
May 13-16, 7.45pm, at the Compass Theatre, Glebe Avenue, Ickenham. Tickets: £12 or £11 concessions (available on Wed/Thurs only) from RDS on 07856 246517 or from the Compass on 01895 673200.
