WOMEN can get fit for free when new exercise classes are launched at a Ruislip gym next month.

Highgrove Pool and Fitness Centre is giving cycle, core ball and pilates classes just for the girls, inspired by the nationwide This Girl Can campaign.

Charmaine Bloxham, group exercise lead at Highgrove Pool and Fitness Centre, said: "Women can face a lot of barriers when it comes to exercising and sometimes need a little encouragement.

“The aim of these courses is to break down these barriers and give women the chance to try something new.

"At Better, we work to make living a healthy lifestyle accessible to everyone and these classes will be a great way of boosting participants' confidence and general fitness.

"We would like as many women as possible to come and try one of our classes, either with a friend or by themselves to meet new ones."

Courses are being run by leisure operator Better, in partnership with Hillingdon Council, and will run over an eight-week period.

The high energy group cycle, starting on September 7, will run on Mondays 11am to 12noon; a group cycle and core ball combination from the same date will be Mondays 5.30pm to 6.30pm; and a pilates class, 12noon to 1pm on Fridays, will start on September 11.
