RUISLIP Dramatic Society hope to set dull November evenings alight with the comedy Funny Money at the Compass Theatre in Ickenham.
A close company of eight are performing the Ray Cooney play from Wednesday November 18 until Saturday November 21.
The story centres on Henry Perkins, a man who finds himself in luck after picking up the wrong briefcase - containing £935,000.
It develops into a farcical adventure as Henry Perkins is pursued by two police officers and ‘Mr Nasty’ who is trying to reclaim his briefcase.
Vice chairman of RDS David Iggulden said: “It’s a madcap farce, it’s light and fun which I think we all need a bit of this time of year.
“It contrasts with our last production, James Cawood’s Stone Cold Murder, which was a murder mystery. We like to keep it diverse and fresh.”
The selection of performers is as eclectic as the RDS's choice of productions, with the cast including two Ministry of Defence civil servants and an engineer.
Mr Iggulden said ironically one of the Funny Money cast members was a financial advisor.
When first previewed, the play was a huge West End hit running for two years at the Playhouse Theatre London before being made into a film.
