BIG friendly giants were spotted at ODEON Uxbridge ahead of the release of the highly-anticipated family favourite this week.

To celebrate the release of the Steven Spielberg blockbuster on July 22, cinema-goers will receive their very own giant ears and will be greeted by giant ODEON staff.

Phizzwizzards will come true as guests have the opportunity to take a photo inside ODEON’s own Dream Jars, and will be given the chance to learn the unique Gobblefunk language spoken by the big friendly giant himself. Crodscollop!

Andy Edge, commercial director at ODEON UK & Ireland, said: “We’re bringing the BFG to life with loads of fun treats for our guests which will create unforgettable memories and photos.

“As one of literature’s most iconic characters, The BFG is part of a huge summer of storytelling here at ODEON – and we’re honouring the friendly hero by hosting our very own giant takeovers this weekend.”

In celebration of 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl, the legendary writer’s 1982 classic novel comes to the big screen under the magical direction of Mr Spielberg and starring Oscar-winner Mark Rylance as The BFG.

Didn’t get the Gobblefunk? Here it is decoded for muggles:

Splatch-winkle: Hurrying about

Phizzwizzards: Great Dreams

Whoopsy-splunkers: Fantastic

Phizz-Whizzing: Brilliant

Crodscollop: An absolutely great flavour!

ODEON Uxbridge will be showing The BFG from Friday July 22, and ears will be given out to children while stocks last so you best splatch-winkle.
