TWO teams from ACS Hillingdon International School travelled to Norway to compete in the international Vestcup Volleyball Tournament last month.
Joining teams from Romania, the Netherlands, China, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, the two girls’ teams were based at the KFUM Volleyball Club in Stravanger for the annual two-day tournament from September 18-20.
With 125 teams competing, from junior clubs to professional level, the ACS Hillingdon teams played more than 15 matches over the weekend, winning two.
Jett Russell, athletics director at ACS Hillingdon International School, said: “The Vestcup tournament really is one of a kind – with so many games being played at one time, in one place, with all levels competing.
“It was a fantastic opportunity for our teams to play competitive volleyball at a very high level for a whole weekend.”
Families in Stravanger also hosted the Hillingdon sportswomen for the duration of the tournament, giving students a taste of Norwegian life.
