CHARITABLE Charville Academy marked the end of their Harvest celebrations by encouraging parents to contribute food items to the Hillingdon Food Bank.

Vine Daniels, manager of the Hillingdon foodbank led an inspirational and engaging assembly where pupils were encouraged to think about children and families in the community who may not be as lucky as they are.

There are currently more than three million children living in poverty in the UK and London has the highest rates of childhood poverty.

The Hillingdon Foodbank provides food and other items to local families in need especially during the winter months and the Christmas season.

The foodbank collected countless crates of non-perishable food donated by families and friends of Charville Academy.

The school is grateful for all the generous contributions and are already making plans to work closer with the food bank.

Charville Academy is a values-based school that promotes an educational philosophy based on valuing self, others and the environment through the consideration of an ethical values vocabulary.
