HILLINGDON Council have successfully prosecuted a Hayes man for a breach of planning control and Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court fined him £8,000.
Akmal Hussain, of 14 Colbrook Close, was fined on Thursday, October 6.
Mr Hussain failed to submit a planning application for his illegal two-storey side extension, rear extension and loft extension.
He then failed to comply with a notice requiring that they be removed.
The council takes a strong stance on contravention of planning legislation and routinely prosecutes people who do not adhere to planning laws.
Cllr Keith Burrows, cabinet member for planning, transportation and recycling, said: “The planning laws are in place to protect our residents from unsightly, unneighbourly and illegal extensions to property and to avoid increased pressures on local infrastructure and amenities.
“This case illustrates a blatant disregard on behalf of Akmal Hussain for both the law and our residents.
“It is a great win for the council and sends a strong message to anyone who’s thinking about breaching our planning and housing laws.”
