MINI Mary Berrys and pint-sized Paul Hollywoods can get their creative cooking juices flowing at free events taking place at intu Uxbridge this half term.

The shopping centre is running the daily cookery events for children during half term after asking families how they most wanted to fill their free time.

Cookery was chosen by classmates of intu heads of fun Esther, 10, Logan, 7, and Aidan, 8, Lucie, 7, the youngest members of their teams tasked with keeping the shopping centres fun and child friendly.

The theme  was also selected by intu’s nationwide shopper view panel, made up of customers at its 14 centres up and down the country, who were polled on the activities they’d most like their children to take part in during the school holidays.

From Monday 13 to Friday 17 February, the shopping centre will be whipping up a tasty week filled with free fun cooking activities for little chefs.

The free fun from 11am to 4pm each day includes cooking masterclasses with Wagamama, cook’s colouring challenge, learning about different delicacies and cultures and much more.

intu Uxbridge marketing manager Natasha House said: “More than 70 per cent of our guests have young families so we’ll be helping them make the most of half term with the opportunity for children to leave the centre having cooked up amazing treats or picked up a new skill they can try again at home.

“intu’s talented Head of Fun helped us to come up with  the theme  that we hope will put a smile on the face of every little chef in our centre this half term.

“It’s just one example of the compelling events we run in our centre all year round made possible thanks to invaluable insight from our customers.”
